Although we mostly work with the dogs at the shelter, they have a constant flood of cats and kittens coming in as well. One of the cats that definitely caught our attention was Scooter, a charming and
extremely friendly orange tabby. Well, in all fairness, he wasn't so charming when Tim first met him, due to an awkward combination of affectionate cat and very poorly trimmed claws... but I digress. Scooter came to the shelter when his former owner had "landlord issues," a common but heartbreaking problem.
To call him "personable" is quite an understatement. We had a difficult time getting photos of him, because he greatly preferred Sophie's shoulder to the tabletop (in fact, he actually jumped from the tabletop onto Sophie's shoulder at one point). When it was time to leave, Scooter played around his kennel right until the moment I snapped the third picture above - gave me absolute "shelter kitten boo-boo face" for the camera - and went back to playing.
You can find more about Scooter and the other cats at the shelter at
this page.
UPDATE: Scooter was rescued by the SPCA. We wish him lots of luck and love finding a new home!
